Q: Tell us more about yourself?

Hello there! Thank you for having me. My name is George, and I have a diverse background in the business world. I am a British and European citizen with experience ranging from start-ups to billion-dollar companies listed on the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. Currently, I am the Founder and Head of Community at The HR Innovator, a platform dedicated to driving tech adoption for HR Innovators, Leaders, and Game Changers. I hold a Master's degree in International Business and a Master's degree in Finance Management. Throughout my journey, I have also had the privilege of participating in various career development programs at renowned institutions like Thomson Reuters, Stanford University, City University, and others.

Q: Could you share the story behind the conception of HR Innovator and what inspired you to create this organization?

Throughout my career, I've always been driven to optimize processes and leverage technology to improve efficiency. The concept of HR Innovator came naturally to me as I observed the challenges faced by HR departments in different companies. I recognized a disconnect between traditional HR practices and the evolving needs of modern workplaces. This realization inspired me to create a platform that could bridge this gap and bring about transformative change in the HR industry. With HR Innovator, my vision was to establish an organization that embraces innovation, disrupts conventional HR approaches, and empowers companies to thrive in the digital era.

Q: What exactly does the HR Innovator do?

HR Innovator is a pioneering organization dedicated to revolutionizing the HR industry. It is a comprehensive platform that serves as a Knowledge Hub/Blog, Event Series, Podcast, Innovation Hub, and start-up lounge catering to the needs of HR professionals, leaders, and game-changers. Q: Since this is a personal interview, it is essential for us to delve into your early years. Could you please share some insights about your childhood and the person you were back then?

As a child, I was always driven by curiosity and a deep desire to explore and understand the world around me. This innate curiosity shaped my character and instilled in me a focus on getting things done. It led me to engage in various activities outside of school, fostering a sense of adventure and a determination to learn and grow.

Q: Based on our pre-interview discussion, we understand that you have had an impressive career as a professional racing driver. It's truly fascinating! We would love to hear more about your experiences in this exhilarating field.

I developed a profound passion for motor racing during my early adolescence, around the age of 12 to 14. Since then, it has played a pivotal role in shaping my life. This intense love for the sport ultimately led me to pursue a career as a motorcycle racing driver, where I have had the privilege of achieving numerous championship victories and earning multiple prestigious titles.

Q: Formula 1 or MotoGP? It's a perennial question. Can you share your thoughts on both and explain what captivates you about these two motorsports?

Ah, the eternal question. Formula 1 and MotoGP have captivated my heart for different reasons. Formula 1's cross-sector collaboration fuels innovation, with its cutting-edge systems finding applications far beyond the racetrack. From hospitals to factories, we see the impact of their technological advancements. A prime example is the remarkable "Project Pitlane" initiative during the Covid pandemic, where F1 teams united to provide critical equipment and life-saving support. Witnessing this level of collaboration and the lessons it offers on optimizing processes and enhancing performance in various fields is truly inspiring.

On the other hand, MotoGP showcases breathtaking displays of athleticism and intense wheel-to-wheel racing, unrestricted by team orders. It's a raw and visceral experience, where the skill and bravery of the riders are on full display. Both MotoGP and Formula 1 serve as powerful examples of what can be achieved through teamwork and collaboration, igniting my passion for pushing boundaries.

Q: Drawing parallels between your entrepreneurial journey and your racing career, what similarities have you discovered? How has your experience in racing influenced your approach as an entrepreneur?

Preparation is a crucial aspect shared by both realms. Engaging in sports, especially from a young age, instills essential qualities like discipline, commitment, teamwork, and the value of hard work. These qualities lay a strong foundation for success in the corporate world. Racing, in particular, hones one's competitive and strategic spirit, essential for navigating the challenges entrepreneurs face. It's about constantly pushing the limits, embracing calculated risks, and always striving to improve. The lessons learned on the track have undoubtedly influenced my approach as an entrepreneur, shaping my determination to overcome obstacles and achieve remarkable outcomes.

Q: Self-doubt is something many individuals experience when embarking on new ventures. Have you encountered self-doubt along your journey as the founder of HR Innovator?

Absolutely. Self-doubt is a natural response to stepping into uncharted territory. It's something that affects also CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, professional athletes, and even world leaders. The key is to recognize that self-doubt is a protective mechanism of our brain, preparing us for the challenges ahead.

Q: What is your recommendation for success?

Throughout my own journey, I've come to realize the significance of using time wisely and embracing hard work. There will be ups and downs along the way, but the key is to remain consistent and committed to your goals. Embrace failures as opportunities to learn, adapt, and persevere. Remember to prioritize self-care for both your body and mind. By striking a balance between hard work and self-nurturing, the fruits of your labor will undoubtedly manifest. Trust me, every ounce of effort will be worthwhile in the end!

Q: What is your long-term goal, and what is your vision behind what you do?

In terms of our company strategy, I must respect the confidentiality of certain details. However, I can share that our overarching aspiration is to create a lasting legacy and make a positive impact on the world. Our vision is driven by a desire to contribute towards changing the world for the better. We believe that by pioneering innovative approaches, fostering inclusive workplaces, and promoting sustainable practices, we can inspire meaningful change and leave a lasting, positive influence.

Q: Finally, aside from your professional pursuits, we would like to know more about your personal interests and how you find relaxation and rejuvenation outside of work. What hobbies do you enjoy engaging in to unwind and recharge?

When I'm not occupied with my professional responsibilities, I embrace my deep love for nature as an enthusiastic outdoors enthusiast. Immersing myself in the great outdoors brings me immense tranquility, whether I'm exploring picturesque trails, embarking on wilderness camping expeditions, or simply indulging in leisurely strolls through serene nature parks. Moreover, I find immense joy in capturing the captivating essence of the natural world through the art of photography. Additionally, I find solace in the thrilling pursuit of mountain biking and the exhilarating freedom that my beloved motorcycle offers when I take it out for weekend rides. Engaging in these hobbies allows me to strike a harmonious balance, unwind, gain fresh perspectives, and draw inspiration from the awe-inspiring wonders that surround us.
